FAQ’s

STCS - WHAT ARE THEY?

STCs refer to Small-scale Technology Certificates, which are an incentive offered under the Australian Governments Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). STC’s essentially work as a discount off the price of your solar system with the number of small-scale technology certificates a system may be eligible for varying depending on the type and size of the system, installation date and geographic location. The price of STCs is driven by supply and demand of the renewable energy certificate market and fluctuates daily.

To streamline the process Great Ocean Solar & Electrical will take care of all STC paperwork for you.

  • We will provide you with an estimated STC saving at the time of quoting

  • On the day of installation we will provide you with all of the paper work to assign the STC credits over to Great Ocean Solar & Electrical

  • We will then subtract the value of the STC’s from the total price of your invoice. You simply pay the discounted price.

FEED-IN TARIFFS - WHAT WILL I GET BACK?

Victoria currently has a feed-in tariff scheme in place, which means you get paid by your electricity retailer for any excess electricity you feed back to the grid.
We recommend you contact your electricity retailer for their updated rates and offers.
